Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong, born on February 8, 1984, is an American actor, comedian and producer. She is also a singer and stand-up comedian. Strong is most well-known for her work as an Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 until 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female actor in the history of the show. Strong was performing in improv in The Second City, Chicago after she completed her studies at CalArts. Then, she was employed by SNL. Her current job is as a actor in the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! She is also the co-producer of the show (2021-2024).
Other roles she's played includes voice-overs in The Awesomes (2013-2015), as well as supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015 she was the host of the White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her debut book, The Memoir This Will All Be Over Soon Soon, was released.
She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.
Childhood and early life
Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and grew up in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William Strong. Strong was the chief of the Associated Press bureau and also owned his own PR company until 2013. Penny Legler Strong, a nurse practitioner who has been employed in a variety of hospitals throughout the region and is now retired. Strong was the child of divorced parents. Strong was fascinated by SNL at a young age. She enjoyed watching her friends re-enact sketches as well as watching the old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape that contained the most memorable commercials, and I used to wear it every day." She said that Phil Hartman was her idol.
